ChronoReplay: One Answer Interface Is Not Enough for Streaming Spatial Intelligence

HF ★ 72 · Yihao Hu, Yitong Lin, Pan Wang… · HF Mirror

This paper addresses the “interface locking” issue in spatial vision LLM training (single-task optimization impairs transfer performance on other spatial tasks) by proposing the ChronoReplay method: it replays heterogeneous spatial supervision in chronological order, preserving native objectives and balancing supervision across task families. The method delivers performance improvements on three spatial benchmarks, including a 13.41 point gain on OST-Bench, marking the highest average score across the three benchmarks among comparison groups. Adaptive frame selection on the inference side can further reduce costs and boost efficiency.

Hy-Nomas: Towards Free-form Interactive World Generation

HF ★ 41 · Qiaoling Chen, Jiaxiang Cheng, Xueqing Deng… · HF Mirror

To meet the requirements of interactive world generation to follow instructions and retain historical causality, this paper proposes Hy-Nomas, a video world model equipped with an 8B parameter diffusion backbone that supports multi-round free text instructions and continuous camera control. Its core designs include motion-aware causal attention and a multimodal prompt enhancer, paired with multi-stage curriculum training and diffusion distillation. Human evaluation shows its performance outperforms existing similar models, and related resources have been open-sourced to support further research in the field.

Rollback: Experience Backtracking in World Models for Policy Improvement

HF ★ 41 · Jiayi Luo, Yang Zhang, Liliang Chen… · HF Mirror

Aiming at the limitation that existing world model-based robot policy optimization only uses forward simulation and does not exploit counterfactual reasoning capabilities, this paper proposes the Rollback paradigm: it backtracks key decision points, compares returns of different actions to generate fine-grained action supervision without requiring an additional value model; it also builds a closed loop between real-world robot execution and world model training, using real machine data to correct dynamics via LoRA fine-tuning. Experiments show the success rate of three real-world tasks is over 10% higher than the baseline, and some tasks exceed average human performance after 8 hours of training.

ThinkWorld: World Imagination Reinforces Chain-of-Dynamics Reasoning

HF ★ 36 · Chaehyun Kim, Chi-Pin Huang, Jisoo Kim… · HF Mirror

Aiming at the problem that generalization of existing vision-language-action (VLA) models is limited by annotated robot demonstrations, and unannotated human video learning struggles to balance data scale and action grounding, this paper proposes the ThinkWorld framework: it uses the dynamics chain as a universal action representation, first initialized with annotated demonstrations, then optimized via world imagination reinforcement learning, which can use unannotated video state transitions for supervision. Experiments verify its strong human-robot transfer performance and excellent generalization to unknown tasks and environments.

LociArt: A Unified Paradigm for Free-Style Local Video Stylization

HF ★ 25 · Yuxuan Chen, Feng Xie, Jiagao Hu… · HF Mirror

Aiming at the pain points that existing video stylization solutions are mostly adapted to full scenes, and local editing is difficult to balance regional accuracy, style controllability and temporal consistency, this paper proposes LociArt, a unified paradigm for free-form local video stylization. Its core GRNStyle module adopts a style-aware polar coordinate mask combined with a representation-geometry constraint scheme, paired with a 100,000-sample dataset and evaluation benchmark built for this task. Experiments show its performance outperforms existing methods, and single-region training supports multi-region editing with the same or different styles.

Evolving to Match Capabilities: Improving Harness Self-Evolution via Skill Adaptation

Zhihao Yang, Haojin Wang, Juncheng Wu…

Aiming at the poor skill adaptability issue in LLM agent Harness self-evolution — skills suitable for strong models反而 reduce performance of weak models, this paper proposes a skill adaptation scheme: it builds a meta-skill diagnosis tool to identify four types of execution failures including tool calls and context management, guiding skill rewriting and self-evolution to match model capabilities. Experiments show weak model performance improves by up to 14.1 points, and models across all capability segments outperform baselines by 2.0-5.1 points after self-evolution, providing practical guidance for related designs.

Can Language Models Learn While They Think? Testing Gradient Adaptation Across Architectures

Surya Saka

This paper tests the effect of dynamic gradient adaptation during inference for LLMs of different architectures: applying single-step SGD updates to soft attention and diffusion models in 128-token blocks reduces next-token loss by 5%-20%, outperforming a 32k context window, while hybrid linear attention models show no significant gain. This type of gradient adaptation only captures stylistic vocabulary and does not memorize facts, and a scheme of distilling conclusions into low-rank adapters can reach the upper limit of in-context learning without affecting inference capabilities.

Lessons from Luck: Do LLM-Written Lessons Carry Chance into an Agent’s Next Decision?

Kazuki Nakayashiki

This study verifies whether LLM-generated experience carries accidental results into an agent’s subsequent decisions: a total of 90,000 controlled tests were conducted on 11 LLM endpoints across 256 dual-tool synthetic task scenarios. Results show that experience of good tools failing accidentally increases the probability of choosing suboptimal tools later to 11.6%, with more significant deviation in scenarios where failure independence is not explicitly stated. Optimizing experience writing prompts can reduce the deviation but does not fully eliminate the risk.

Can we trust LLMs to judge whether a research idea is novel?

Hugging Face

This paper verifies whether LLMs can judge the novelty of research ideas: computer science research topics of different novelty levels are scored independently by LLMs and senior domain reviewers respectively, and the consistency of the two judgments is compared. Results show the current agreement between LLMs and expert judgments is less than 40%: LLMs tend to overestimate the novelty of niche directions, underestimate incremental contributions with substantive value, and are easily misled by rhetorical packaging. They can only be used as auxiliary references for now, and cannot replace experts to complete initial novelty screening.

Lil’Log

Harness Engineering for Self-Improvement

Lilian Weng

The concept of recursive self-improvement (RSI) was first proposed by I.J. Good in 1965, referring to superintelligent machines whose capabilities surpass all human intellectual activities, which can design better systems by themselves to achieve iterative upgrades. In 2008, Eliezer Yudkowsky clarified its core as a feedback loop: AI uses its existing intelligence to optimize its own cognitive generation mechanism. There are currently two types of RSI paths in the AI field: one is for the model to directly rewrite its own weights, and the other is to broadly optimize its own training pipeline.
