Focused Omni-Modal GUI Agents

HF ★ 36 · Fuyao Zhang, Wenwen He, Jiaming Zhang… · HF mirror

To address the problem that full-modal GUI agents are prone to sequence distraction and trajectory drift when processing full context uniformly, this paper proposes FocusGUI, a lightweight adapter: it can dynamically sort the priority of multimodal channels according to single-step decision requirements, compress relevant features and inject them into the frozen decoder, and only relies on action supervision training without fine-tuning the backbone. Experiments show that compared with the frozen backbone, it improves average type matching by 33.2 and exact matching by 3 times, and is 30.1 higher in type matching than existing state-of-the-art enhancement methods.

Sage-A1.5: From Long-Horizon Execution to Scientific Exploration with Capability Composition

HF ★ 31 · Wenjie Lou, Tianshuo Peng, Shiyang Feng… · HF mirror

Sage-A1.5 is a 35B parameter MoE architecture agent model developed based on the previous generation A1, with three core optimizations: parallel task orchestration supporting context isolation of multiple sub-agents, a verification mechanism with progress check and policy reflection, and scientific research capabilities for open exploratory research. Compared with the previous generation, it can complete long-cycle complex tasks more reliably and efficiently, and also supports interdisciplinary scientific research exploration, providing a usable foundation for relevant academic research.

SolarRenderer: Few-Step Generative Reference Rendering

HF ★ 22 · Guian Fang, Shengju Qian, Dongyue Lu… · HF mirror

Aiming at the pain points of existing video renderers being engine-bound, requiring many sampling steps, and having weak generalization, this paper proposes SolarRenderer, a structure-conditioned renderer, which adapts the frozen large model backbone through two lightweight LoRAs, requiring only 4 sampling steps, with a speed 12.3 times that of 50-step solutions, and its block causal variant can generate 768p videos in real time. Trained on 136,000 aligned clips, it achieves SOTA performance and can generalize to 11 unseen structure representations such as skeletons and hand-drawn sketches.

SWIFT: Self-guided Weak-to-strong dIFfusion models via Target extrapolation

HF ★ 18 · Yanjin He, Cuifeng Shen, Wanzhou Lei… · HF mirror

To address the pain points of high training cost of diffusion models and additional overhead of inference guidance, this paper proposes SWIFT, a self-guided weak-to-strong diffusion training method: it reuses the frozen early-stage weak denoiser to extrapolate the regression target, strengthens the underfitting components of the model, and discards the guidance after training with no additional inference overhead. Theoretical proof shows that this method can reduce errors, and in experiments, the ImageNet-256 task outperforms the baseline FID with only half the computing power, and high-quality generation can be achieved without inference guidance.

PhysSkin++: Real-Time and Generalizable Physics-Based Animation via Self-Supervised Neural Skinning

HF ★ 12 · Yuanhang Lei, Baofei Liu, Xingxuan Li… · HF mirror

Aiming at the generalization challenge of real-time physical animation across diverse 3D shapes and discrete representations, this paper proposes the PhysSkin++ physics-aware framework: it uses a neural skinning field autoencoder to generate deformation subspaces without per-object training, paired with a physical self-supervised strategy combined with gradient correction to stabilize constraint optimization, and adds a self-supervised complementary objective to learn elastic responses. Verification shows that it supports real-time controllable animation with collision for multiple types of 3D representations, and has excellent cross-shape generalization performance.

Accelerating the search for antimicrobial peptides with Google Antigravity

Google DeepMind

In response to the current insufficient clinical response to drug-resistant bacterial infections, new antimicrobial peptides are a highly promising R&D direction, but the traditional screening mode has low efficiency and long cycles. This research relies on Google’s Antigravity research tool to accelerate the screening process of new antimicrobial peptides, which can greatly reduce R&D costs and shorten the mining cycle of candidate molecules, providing a new technical path for the rapid R&D of lead drugs against drug-resistant bacteria.

Google DeepMind and Singapore Government collaborate to build fine-tuned AI model for scam detection

Google DeepMind

Google DeepMind and the Government Technology Agency of Singapore have jointly developed a special fine-tuned AI model for fraud detection, which adopts a lightweight Gemma model deployed on the end side, which can directly identify and block conversational fraud in private chats locally on the user’s device, without uploading private chat data to the cloud throughout the process, achieving zero cloud data outflow, fully protecting user communication privacy while ensuring anti-fraud efficiency.

NVIDIA Cosmos3-H-Dreams: Bringing Clinical Surgery to Life Through Generative Simulation

Hugging Face

This article introduces NVIDIA’s launched Cosmos3-H-Dreams generative surgery simulation platform, which uses multimodal generative AI modeling to reproduce human anatomical structures, instrument interaction feedback and intraoperative physiological changes with high accuracy, supports customization of different case scenarios and emergency simulation, and its realism far exceeds traditional simulation solutions. It can be applied to practical training for surgeons and pre-rehearsal of individualized surgical plans, effectively reducing clinical practical operation risks.

FairStress: A deeper evaluation of fairness in LLM decision-making

Hugging Face

This paper proposes FairStress, a deep evaluation framework for the fairness of LLM decision-making, which breaks through the limitations of traditional surface-level fairness detection by constructing boundary stress test cases covering multiple sensitive attributes and multiple decision scenarios. Tests found that the fairness degradation of mainstream large models in high-pressure boundary scenarios far exceeds that in conventional scenarios, and ordinary evaluations will greatly underestimate fairness risks. This framework can accurately locate the implicit fairness defects of large models.

Harness Engineering for Self-Improvement

Lilian Weng

This article sorts out the conceptual evolution of recursive self-improvement (RSI): In 1965, I.J. Good first proposed the idea of superintelligent machines, referring to agents that can surpass all human intellectual activities and design better systems to complete self-iteration; In 2008, Eliezer Yudkowsky clarified that the core of RSI is the feedback loop through which AI upgrades its own cognitive base relying on existing intelligence. The current implementation of RSI in the AI field includes two paths: directly rewriting its own weights and optimizing training pipelines.

Three Key Pieces of the RSI Puzzle, MemT 1.0 Fills the “Memory” Gap from the Model Layer

QbitAI

Current research on AI self-improvement (RSI) urgently needs a reusable experience inheritance mechanism, and existing solutions are mostly external experience libraries. The newly open-sourced MemT 1.0 is the first memory-native model verified at nearly 300B parameter scale, which encodes experience into internal dynamic states, allowing the model to autonomously learn the logic of memory reading, writing and updating. Its performance is not inferior to external memory and has a higher expansion ceiling, with two parameter versions of 36B and 288B launched.
