Has GPT-6-Astra Achieved Embodied Intelligence?
HF ★ 37 · SenseNova, Joint Research Team, Zhongang Cai… · HF Mirror
This study evaluates the embodied intelligence level of GPT-6-Astra: tests across 12 categories of manipulation and navigation benchmarks show that the model, which supports in-context learning, achieves state-of-the-art performance, and the high-low level agent closed-loop control scheme delivers excellent results. However, real machine deployment has shortcomings such as high demonstration collection costs, and difficulty balancing efficiency and success rate under physical constraints. Currently, it has only crossed the threshold of embodied capability, and has not yet met the requirements for practical embodied intelligence.
BizBench: Unveiling Hidden Challenges in Deploying Long-Horizon Agents for Real-World Business
HF ★ 28 · Enhan Zhao, Yongqi Tong, Xuejun Yu… · HF Mirror
Addressing the issue that existing long-horizon agent benchmarks only assess final results and cannot adapt to the full-process compliance requirements of high-risk businesses, this paper proposes the BizBench benchmark based on real workflows of payment enterprises. It integrates hundreds of pieces of business knowledge, tools, and 50 complex tasks, evaluating both target completion rate and execution compliance at the same time. Tests show that the highest strict pass rate of cutting-edge models is only 64%, result-oriented assessments will conceal execution violations, and redundant tool calls are common.
Into the Unknown: Benchmarking AI agents on open scientific research problems
HF ★ 21 · Seungone Kim, Jiayi Geng, Young-Jun Lee… · HF Mirror
To verify whether AI agents can carry out open scientific research, researchers teamed up with the U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories to launch the “Into the Unknown” benchmark, which requires agents to produce follow-up research papers that meet preset specifications based on given papers, covering 5 cutting-edge fields including quantum computing and materials science. Tests on 135 outputs from 9 cutting-edge agents show that none meet all requirements, more than 80% have problems such as fictional research and data contradictions, and existing AI is far from meeting the threshold for independent scientific research.
HexaShell: A Thin Harness for Exploring the Limits of VLM Agents as Robot Coding Agents
HF ★ 20 · Hongcheng Gao, Alex Zhou, Jay Zhu… · HF Mirror
To explore the performance boundary of VLM coding agents for robot control, this paper proposes the lightweight framework HexaShell, which is only responsible for translating agent instructions into robot actions, supporting agents to iteratively optimize tool code based on failure logs and locate targets through visual triangulation. It achieves a 39.7% success rate on 42 tasks of the RoboDojo benchmark, setting a new SOTA. Its shortcoming lies in fine contact tasks (such as tight insertion, which only has an 8.3% success rate), and related tools have been open-sourced.

Harness Engineering for Self-Improvement
Lilian Weng
This paper sorts out the research context of AI Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI): In 1965, I.J. Good first proposed the related concept, arguing that superintelligent machines can surpass humans in all intellectual activities, and can also design better machines to complete self-iteration; in 2008, Eliezer Yudkowsky clarified that its core is that AI uses its existing capabilities to optimize its own cognitive mechanism. Currently, RSI implementation in the AI field mainly has two paths: directly rewriting its own weights, and optimizing its own training pipeline.

Google open-sources new RSI achievement! High proportion of Chinese researchers
QbitAI
Google has recently open-sourced the Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) framework Harness², which allows large models to independently iterate components such as prompts and toolchains. Addressing the pain points of previous RSI lacking evaluation standards in real scenarios and being prone to overfitting to single tasks and falling into noise spirals, it adopts a two-layer recursive architecture of task-level controlled experiments and improvement-level precipitation of general optimizations. GLM-5 equipped with this framework scores 11.5 points higher on office benchmarks, surpassing Gemini 3.5 Flash, and it is now open-source and adapted to multiple coding models.
